The first half of the Republican debate blew. It was really bad. I turned the TV off and then got locked in my bathroom, because the door mechanism broke. It was kind of novel for the first hour. Then I started yelling for help and pounding on the walls. After three hours I started using the drawers as hammers to hit the walls harder while ( Read more... )

sounds like a fun night.

just im having a hard time believing that you didnt just go through the door, after all 95% of all interior doors are just veneered with 1/16th" plywood skin. You can easily punch through or use one of the drawers you prolly mangled to get out.

The door was pretty hardcore. After about ten minutes I determined that was outside my power to get out. It held up longer than the front door when the police officer tried to get through it (about eight to ten hard kicks, you can see a lot of scuff marks from her boot), and she was on the correct side of the door for kicking. I didn't have anything hard enough to bash with, the hinges were on my side (I tried to take the door off its hinges, but I needed heavier tools -- the best I had was a pair of scissors and some combs). As for the drawers, they were nowhere near as hard as the door. They just started to disintegrate when I hit the walls with them.

"she", thats was why it took ten kicks. and i didnt mean to kick the door down, i meant to go right through it. Seriously, its not tough. Ive done it out of anger a few times.

but whatever. just the weird thoughts of "what if a fire broke out and you were stuck in there". Or you didnt realize you could go through the drywall from room to room, fairly easy too. Drywalls not exactly stainless steel eiher.

(I also don't have the physical strength to punch through doors, even weak interior doors.)

I was really disappointed by the debate too. Ron Paul was the only one that had something refreshing and unique to say, but they barely let him take any questions! The rest of the bunch made me want to pull all my eyelashes out.

It wasn't Ron Paul's best performance either. He was kind of ho hum this debate. I mean, compared to how exciting he was in the other ones. He had some really good lines before. Like the time he went toe to toe with Giuliani, he really shined. Giuliani wanted him to apologize, and he picked his pen up, leaned forward, and said "I believe the CIA when they talk about blowback..." He and McCain are the most fun to listen to in the debates, but only Ron Paul has that "OMG, that's right! He's right! Finally somebody says it!" feeling going for him.

I think your experience in the bathroom was more interesting than the television event.
