I think there's a chance to see some recovery in hip-hop's image with the decline of gangsta rap. Things like the breakthrough of the Black Eyed Peas, and the popularity of Eminem's music about loving his daughter, seem to be little anecdotes suggesting at a larger trend that people respect the music form and want to see more done with it than what it was largely transformed into.
