I have opinions about sales models for video games

I've always been skeptical of micropurchases and episodic content for games. Micropurchases especially. The only micropurchase type thing that I've seen first hand is Rock Band songs, and there it kind of makes sense -- you're buying works from various artists, and a royalty model can work there. You feeling unhappy about your Half-Life 2: Episode 1 experience is the reason I picked up The Orange Box, and not everything individually. I got all of the games, plus the two expansions. No muss, no fuss. TF2 is a vastly better game than Counter-Strike anyway. Even though I bought that too and literally, never play it.

I remember paying $20 for Episode One, and feeling ripped off from the whole experience. There was not enough meat, and what meat there was was basically tough as hell to chew.
