His concession speech brought back a very small smidgen of the respect I'd lost for McCain over the last few months. It was pretty classy, and very good.
It was a great speech, but damn, did I want to shut his supporters up. You got the sense that McCain was also a bit pissed at them and couldn't wait to leave the stage -- even almost neglecting to kiss his wife and barely shaking the hand of Palin's husband.
Yeah, the crowd was a disappointment. No positive reaction at the things he said which actually stirred me, and pissy teenage grumping at the things he said which I nodded respectfully at.
The frat boy booing reminded me of a sports event. I was glad to see the images being broadcast, though (I don't have a TV, so I'm watching it online), because I could see respect on the faces of most of the members of the audience.
