Monday
A full day if there ever was one....no, actually not. I had a
statistics
project due that afternoon at 5:00, so that was ever present in my
thoughts for
the day. Wake up, work on stat project. Eat, work on stat project.
Check in for
last racquetball class, work on stat project. Needless to say, I was
burned out
on my statistics project by the end of the day (perhaps starting it
Monday
morning was not the brightest of ideas). I think I actually woke up
around
8:00, but I was quite tired and managed to miss the 9:10 class period
of my
Stat lab. I finally got up and moving to shower down and dress up (or
over)
around 9:40 and after checking the
weather report I made my way over to the
10:20 Stat lab, all the while hoping there would be a free chair so I
would not
have to stand in the back.
I gave my Mom a ring
while
walking over to the Blocker building and apologized for not calling her
the
previous night (one of the days I normally call). We chatted for a
while, least
notably about the weather (though, why would I remember that if it was
least
notable? Probably censoring what information I want the general public
to know
or some other such subconscious process). She and my Dad are planning
on coming
up Wednesday afternoon/night so that we may go through that little
Christmas
lightshow spectacle set up south of College Station off of Highway 6.
You see, none of us have
actually gone to it in the 2 and a half years that I have been going
here now.
As you know, time can pass by quite fast, so we're making it a piont to
go this
year (why go at all? because we haven't gone before and other people
have? I
think so).
The Stat lab was pointless in as much as it didn't help me get my
project
finished, so I was eager to get out and make my way back to my dorm
room. I was
partway there, even, when I realized I hade a "care package" waiting
for me at the MSC. The Aggie Moms club from my county is fairly active
(and
only an hour or so out from CS) and one of their "things" is to come
up at busy times of the year and give the member's children a care
package
of sugary treats (and always a small packages of toothpaste
^_^ ). I
stopped by my Chem class on the way over to the MSC, but after hopping
up to the
second floor (yes, I hopped up the stairs) I could see that little if
any useful
information was being given out (only about 5% of the class there
anyways). I
figured I'd just make it to the review session later this week and went
on my
merry way over to the MSC.
My mom is doing the scrapbook for the Aggie Mom's club this year, and
she's
very friendly/outgoing, so I stopped and talked for a while with the
mothers
that made it up to campus this time and let them take a picture with me
for the
scrapbook. I made my way over to Bernie's, stopping for a second time
at my
Chem class just to make sure nothing important was being covered. I had
a
Chicken Wrap made and took it with some sun chips and a sprite back to
my dorm
(work, work, work).
I tried to finish my project, and I really got on a roll with it, but I
just
wasn't going fast enough. Around 2:00 I went over to my racquetball
class to
check my grade and sign in. No problems with an Kine pass/fail class (I
really
enjoyed racquetball, but that's for another update...or never?). I got
back to
my room and started plugging away at the project again. It was going
well, but
my mind was through with all this thinking type shit
and I
realized I wasn't going to finish in time anyways.
I gave Clint a ring? no, it was AIM, I gave him a message? no, that
sounds like
I passed a note along to him or something... I IM'd
Clint
and suggested going over to
The Casa for some video gaming or other
such time wasting fun. While deciding on what to do, I had some fun
with my
many M&M's (from the Stat project) and took a few
goofy, if not disturbing,
pictures. After showing them off to Clint, online of course,
we decided to head
out. I walked out the Reed Arena to get my car and made it by to pick
up Clint
by about 3:40. Chad
was busy with some programming homework, Josh was asleep and Paul and
Tim were
out somewhere, though not necessarily with each other, it just happened
that
they were not at their home at the same time. This is not at all
unusual. I
played some GTA:Vice City for a while, my first time actually, and had
fun
getting my character killed (I can find entertainment in the dumbest of
areas).
Clint napped and Chad
typed while I played.
I stopped playing and woke Clint up around 5:10 (time to get our asses
over to
Sbisa for Hobbes dinner). Chad had bought ping-pong implements (set up
on their
small round dinning table with the
leaves
inserted) and it had already been decided to bring them to
dinner.
Clint was supposed to give Reece a guest meal, but we didn't get there
until
5:35, so I suppose he gave up and just paid since he was already in
there eating (he being Reece, gg pronouns).
Dinner started out uneventful enough, we were rather subdued at first,
but
things got interesting when Flip (or to whatever group the Freshmen
behind us
were associated [awk-werd]) started tossing bits of food around. It
started out
harmless enough, part of a cookie here, some ice there, but before you
know it,
there were entire chicken breast quarters thrown. Naturally, this
seemed like
the pest time to Chad
and I to set up table tennis in the back corner of Sbisa. It was quite
fun and
the other table got a chuckle out of it (between throwing oranges and
mashing a
plate of whipped cream into one guy's face). It actually worked quite
well.
While Clint played with Chad, I took a few pictures.
Mid-flight (barely)
ACTION SHOT!
Down smash (lololololol)
After all that fun, I took Chad back to The Casa. On the way he talked
about
his CS class (Computer Science, not Counter Strike) and we had a moment
of
silence, awk-werd silence? Yes, but only because I thought about the
silence. I
also thought about saying something, but then I didn't because I
thought about
mentioning this in my Xanga. I then thought about how it was no longer
an awkward
silence because my mind was on another topic. I then thought it was an
awkward
silence again because my mind had drifted back to the silence. I then
thought
about typing up everything that I just typed that was covering the
topic of
silence and typing up useless shit, in my Xanga
.
Once we got back to his place, I took up the controller for more Vice
City
shenanigans (while Chad finished his homework). I stayed engrossed in
it until
Tim and Katie showed up around...hell, 9:00? I have no fucking clue.
Videogames
waste more time than the internet. Tim had bought a bamboo steaming
basket of
sorts and when he offered to cook up some fish and potatoes in it I
affirmed my
interest in such an endeavor (ha ha, big words). He made enough for
himself, Katie and I (and I
think we discussed doing some salmon for Chad, but whether any efforts
or
fish materialized from that suggestion, I do not know). Paul had also
showed up
at some point that night, but I couldn't say when because I was fucking
into
that damn videogame.
After Katie started making cake, we somehow decided to watch anime
(surprise!).
I think there was some One Piece watching to be had and before we could
get to
Bleach I decided to leave, it was 1:00 AM and I still had to do my
project today!
Go, go, procrastination.
My roommate is bitching right now about his computer program not
working, oh
and heavily sighing. It's like he has tourette's (or rather, that
watchamacallit psychological disorder in which you spout off bursts of
random
profane words [that's right, tourette's is not the same
disease])
Sooo....I'm going to go to sleep so that I may recount the events of
Tuesday
(ohhh, do I ever turn my project in? Find out in my next update. There
will be
a twist of fate, er, no there won't.) in typewrote
form.
I h8 u
intarweb.
Afterthought:
Thanks
for telling me about Arcade Fire, Tim.
