I use just layers. I'm probably the most basic photoshop user you'll ever meet.

Woah, who uses channels to color? I didn't know people could do that, I only ever used them to knock out the white on my lineart. (Then I drop in like five layers and poke around and hope I get a picture at the end of it.) 8D
