Dutch songs and singers

I spent hours chosing my favorite Dutch songs and singers, which was fun but impossible. I don't know if I will be able to convince the world, but  I love posting these.

First of all, there is Wende Snijders. This woman shows more passion in a few minutes than I probably will in my entire life. She is mostly know for singing in French, but I chose two (mostly) Dutch songs to show here. They are both about living your own life, not caring about what others expect of you, and seizing the day.

Maarten van Roozendaal, who is probably best appreciated when seen live, when his charisma just oozes from the podium.
Ignore the smoking if you want. This song is about the miracle of spring coming again and getting older.

Trijntje Oosterhuis, one of the most powerful voices of my country. She has worked with Bacharach and is quite famous here. First a song in Dutch and then a Tina Turner song together with Paskal Jakobsen, another wonderful voice. I don't really like his songs, but I can't resist that voice.

This is one of my favorite video's by a great, great singer, Mathilde Santing. This is a controversial video, even here in liberal Holland, but it is so intimate, so beautiful. However it is not safe for work, and if you don't want to see two women loving each other, and some nudity, then don't watch this. Your loss, though.

There are many more I love, and I will probably post them soon, if only for my own enjoyment.
