I know it's not much help, but at least I can offer sympathy and an "I know how you feel." I've been in the same position now for the past two years, which is why I haven't gotten out much - even cover to get in the club is money I can't spend right now. I've been a ball of perpetual anxiety for quite awhile now because of it.
Any time you want to get out and do something free, let me know... we can find some way of blowing off some steam and keep our pocketbooks intact. I know that I still have some free bowling thingies for Wednesdays.

My previous car (the red Oldsmobile) had that same problem. Seriously, try smacking the side of it with something hard. I was told by a mechanic that on certain types of coolant resevoirs, when the coolant gets low the meter gets stuck at the bottom, and you have to smack it to dislodge it so it can float to the top of the new coolant. I had to do that every time I refilled the coolant.

BTW, I did mean smacking the resevoir, not smacking the car. Smacking the car might make you feel better, but is unlikely to actually be helpful. Shouting at the car, on the other hand...
