I survived my crazy two weeks at work. Subbing for Liz Copeland isn't an easy task. I think I did a pretty good job. Playlists are available at http://www.wdetfm.org and I think the Thursday and Fridays shows should still be available as part of the On-Demand feature for the next couple of ( Read more... )

I'm actually gonna say this at the risk of sounding like a dick but I'm proud of you on the drinking decision. Not because I'm happy your out there drinking - I mean christ - I've cut way the hell back myself. But just the fact that your being RESPONSIBLE about it. I think your handling it very well. :)

You should call me sometime - I want to know how Fridays are doing. lol. And if you need a break - let me know.

Good for you. By not drinking at all alcohol is still controlling you- granted it's a lot healthier than overdoing it, but still. Moderation is totally possible and there's no reason not to have a drink every now and then when you feel like it. I keep an eye on my drinking too- seems there are a lot of us in this boat :)

One thing to keep in mind is that I used to drink way too much and I got myself in a lot of trouble. I wasn't a lot of fun to be around back then. This is my reason for being very careful so I don't fall into old traps.

*nodnod* that makes sense. Still it sounds like you've got a good handle on it and good people who will watch your back.

Good deal, Jon! You know how much I used to drink, so when the time came when I got sick of all that would happen when I did drink too much, I decided just to cut back. Never did the whole cold turkey thing, it really isn't for me. It works for different people, though.

So now, on the rare occasions that I do go out somewhere, I'll only have a beer or two. At Morgan's house, I'll drink more, but that's because I'm at her house spending the night, and I know I won't have to go anywhere, plus she always keeps me happy, which precludes a lot of the major anger issues I would have at City Club whilst totally drunk beyond all hope. Once in a blue Moon, I will cut loose and just get wasted, like at Ed's, but even then I'll stop afterwhile so I won't be sick the next morning.

All in all, it's really how you do it. You have had years of abstinence to help clear your thoughts as to how you were going to handle alcohol again. I think you'll do fine ;)

just remember unresponsible drinking leads to bras on heads...

Anyways when I get back from the UK, Cleveland and Bloomington - you, Bradd and I should discuss a possible rotating schedule for Fridays if you're getting tired and or burned-out. Give it some thought and we'll talk further.

Cheers.
