I've long wanted social cards to hand out when I meet people, but didn't get them until I saw a recent promotion from an online printing company that was advertising free business cards. So I ordered some and they arrived today.
But then, disaster struck. I had nothing in which to carry around these newly minted cards. Carrying them in my wallet or purse would mean ugly bent corners. I knew things called card holders existed, but couldn't really justify spending money on an object whose sole purpose is to carry around little pieces of paper. So that left making something to carry them in. I've recently been trying to use up my craft stash, which has forced me to come up with ideas to use what I have. It's actually quite fun.
Using my free velcro from last year's 3M Half marathon, some forest green card stock, some white vellum, and some pink yarn from my recent knitting habit, I whipped up this, which I'm quite pleased with:
Who knows how durable it will be, but I'm feeling quite pleased with myself right now.
