So, I feel an urgent need to write. Not sure why. I don't feel any inspiration while looking at the few writing projects I have underway, so a short LJ post will suffice.

Shadow Unit yet? No?! Go and be amazed. A new media is, if not born, then seriously advanced. Makes me want to create a serial narrative with a small group of contributors.

I met a girl the other night (I think I related some of the story to you earlier) who was utterly broken. I kept getting little...flashes or pings or itches, not sure how to describe...years ago I would have worked desperately to interject myself into her drama in an attempt to help. But I just offered her all the help I could realistically provide, and only extended it when she requested. When she asked if I thought she was crazy I told her I do my best not to judge, and that she was obviously dealing with experiences and trauma that could cripple the best of us. Part of me was also constantly self-monitoring though, keeping myself at a certain distance, in case I could catch her sickness. I suppose having a family requires a little selfishness of that variety.
Not sure why your quote provoked such a lengthy response, but there it is.

There is no score to be balanced :) But yeah, redemption is a life-long day by day process, kinda like AA.
I'm kind of intrigued by your 'keeping myself at a certain distance, in case I could catch her sickness' -- do you really think that you (with a partner and dependents) could be susceptible to such pleas? Or was it just a turn of speech?

Oh, and to reinforce. While I have met numerous enough souls who only ever made the one mistake, most sinners were recidivists who willfully erred at every opportunity.
