manintheboat makes garam masala that'll burn your eyes out if you're not careful. I, not realizing the stock GM had been replaced by her XXX blend, used a dollop of it making french toast one morning. Pain perdu pain!

Whenever working with wire, gloves are a great idea. That stuff can act like a knife blade.

Heh. I like "pain perdu pain", but rather more in concept than as actuality. Must have been quite a shock.

You are entirely correct about working with wire, especially wire that's rotating, and double-especially wire that's rotating at many RPM.

I used to make my own rings for mail armor, which involved winding springs. Two pieces of wire right beside each other, closing down to contact, made for an absolutely fantastic pair of skin scissors, I learned.

Not only that, but you have N opportunities, even with a small piece. Argh.

Now I'm hungry for ground lamb curry! Maybe I'll do something about that tomorrow. Not convinced about methi, though. I think mine will involve winter squash and leeks, since I have both in need of using.

Methi is quite nice, especially with appropriate spicing, but I'm sure that winter squash is also just fine. Leeks are dicey for me because of the onion allergy, but I bet they work[ed] well.
