I spent practically this whole weekend in Desucon which is an anime/manga convention. I was there last year also, though only for one day, and I had really fun so I preordered myself a two-day ticket. It was more expensive but totally worth of its price. :D

I'm sad, I wanted to go to the anime con in my area at the end of May but I had no one to go with me and no way to get down, so that was a no for me. D: And the other one I would've gone to is at the end of August, but I have to move into my university then -_- Poo. But I'm glad that you had tons of fun, and that the experience was really good!

Sometimes, I find it hard to carry conversations too. Especially when the other person is just unwilling to cooperate D: So I'm happy when others talk to me too. Mostly because I tend to be the generator of many, many awkward silences XD

Poor you. :( Cons are really great, I love the mood. :D
Some people just go to the cons even though they don't know anyone there. They have that gift to find new friends. It's a little mysterious, I've never experienced that in my life. XD

XD I've noticed that I can talk without a break (well, figuratively speaking) if I'm alone with a person. But I go mute in a bigger group. Weird. :D

Everyone's just so bubbly and stuff! What sucked more was that there was a little JE gathering too and I couldn't go to that either. -_-
I don't have enough nerve to do that, haha. Plus, my parents probably wouldn't let me do that, go alone. =/

I dunno, for me it usually depends on who I'm with. Some people it's really easy to carry a conversation with, others not so much.

:/ There was a time when some anime con arranges a JE meet here also, it was like two years ago or so. I don't think it went so well because it hasn't been arranged ever since. :D
Huh, just tell them you are seeing someone there even if you aren't. Small white lies don't hurt anyone. Well, if the con is across the country it won't be very wise but...

Yeah, there are people with whom you just "click". They are a rare species. XD

I don't know, he doesn't appreciate nerdy jokes. AND I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO OFFER. ;__;

I would have liked to go to some cons but my work doesn't give in T_T
And they didn't even arranged Animecon this year!

And yeah I know what you mean, I'm not easy to approach either coz I don't speak much in an unknown company and I hate awkward silences.
And when you meat some new people like that it's always sad to part from them. They might not think you as a friend yet, but you think them as your friends and you'd like to meat them again but probably you never will...

Aww, I feel your pain. :( I would've liked to stay in Desucon the whole weekend as in from Saturday to Sunday night and day. (That was possible if you didn't sleep in Sibeliustalo!) Unfortunately, my summer job begun the following Monday so sleeping was probably the most sensible thing to do. I'm still disappointed though. .__.

You're totally my soulmate! I agree with this so much. It's heartbreaking to realize how great time you can spend with someone who you have never met before and who you will never meet again. It's even more sad when you think that they probably didn't even like you as much as you liked them. :/ Ugh, I wish I was a more open person so that I could tell people that they mean a lot to me.
