this is simply an intel of being a younger child. not only are you the younger, you're the youngest, the baby boy you are *in yoda voice*. don't worry about it, patience (wow, i can't believe i forgot how to spell that. i hope its right) and time will help this situation. though i am the oldest, i feel your pain. honestly what i would do is try to go to a school out of town. maybe the same school as your brother, that is if you're brother isn't like your father with the controlling factor.....just a suggestion.
i was set to go to a school in dallas, everything was ready, i was accepted, my financial aid paperwork was finished, then my parents decided it wasn't right for me, they didn't want to have to pay for an apartment.... or so they say, it's bullshit.
my father won't let me join the military, see what i mean, i can't do anything. Whenever i bring up the fact that i didn't want to start during the summer he cuts me off, which is a bit odd.
don't sweat it man. try to get him to a point where he listens to you and hears you out. if that doesn't work, there's always the "rebelling" possibility. it makes for a better story too....
I know baby...they worry...granny got stricter on me when I turned eighteen because she thought I would go wild...here's a thought...act like a mature adult, show them that you're not wild and crazy, etc. and they will learn to respect you...but if you pout and act stupid then they are going to treat you like a child.
i am acting like an adult, i don't do anything stupid, my dad is the one that cuts me off, he tells me to drop it, like he doesn't want to talk about it. I just think that's a little odd.

They only do it because they care. Unfortunately, all parents need a good smack upside the head.
What happened to the military?
