i noticed that the further i got into high school, the more all my friends found out who they really were. while they didn't do it all at once, i took a look around at my friends the end of my junior year. it was a completly different group of people than what i started out with.
we do it so slowly that we don't realize it's happening: we find out who we are and what we want from people. as we realize that, we slowly stop conversing with people who don't fit in to what we think is right for ourselves. slowly, we weed out so many people to make room for people who do fit that only one or two people are left. it hurts, but it happens.
think about who your friends were in 5th grade as compared to your friends in 7th grade. different people? aahhhh... now i'm all nostalgic. but friends change. wait until your grade goes to college. you'll freak at how quickly people lose touch. :(
