Keeping cool - Angelkitty
(Lester/Becker)

Becker lay face-down on the bed, tugging at his bonds, but with no real meaning. He heard Lester approach, then hot lips pressed against his neck.

Lester’s lips weren’t all that was hot. The room baked in the height of warm, humid summer air.

His naked skin radiated heat, glistening with sweat and he knew it would only get worse as he and Lester played.

Becker arched his back and gasped as an ice cube suddenly touched the skin between his shoulder blades. It blazed a cold trail down his back, leaving goose-bumps in its wake.

“Cooling down yet, Becker?”

Halloween - prehistoriccat
(Connor as requested, Becker)

He was not scared. Absolutely not scared.

He had fought dinosaurs and future predators for god’s sake. Been to that evil future with half the world destroyed and the big, huge insects and coped. He’d been held hostage, helped beat up that cloney, care-takery man-thing.

He had even stood up to Abby during an argument. Okay, he’d only done that once, he was brave, he wasn’t stupid.

So Becker and his stupid Halloween practical jokes that he kept telling Connor that he would not see coming were absolutely not going to keep him on edge all night.

Nope. No way.

Duck - Flatty
(Lester, Ryan, Connor. Lester/Connor hinted at)

“The water park? On it’s busiest day of the year?” Lester demanded.

“Yes, sir.” Ryan answered, taking one for the team.

“And you let them escape.” It was a statement, no longer questioning.

“They were tricky to contain, sir.”

“Tricky to contain?” They were ducks! You were defeated by 150 ducks!” Lester had reached a somewhat deadly volume now.

“They were Vegavis actually.”

Ryan winced as Connor blindly intervened, seemingly oblivious to the danger.

Then again, with the look that crossed Connor’s face when Lester glared, Ryan suddenly had to wonder if Connor actually knew exactly what he was doing…

Bedtime stories - jcad6169
(Abby/Connor, future fic, OC)

Jessica lay in bed and curled her arms around Monty, her soft, fluffy toy mammoth that Uncle James helped her name. Her duvet, covered in lots of little diplodocuses, was tucked right up to her chin as Daddy continued telling his bedtime story. It was one of the ones about dinosaurs and soldiers. Daddy always made the dinosaur noises which made her and Mummy laugh. But sometimes the stories got quite scary.

Her favourites though, were the ones with the Prince and Princess trapped in the Lost Land. She liked those best because she knew they had a happy ending.

Big Brother - pheobezu

(Connor, Stephen)

Connor used to listen to his friends talk about their families; moaning about older siblings who beat them up, younger ones who stole and broke their stuff. Parents who nagged about homework and later, curfews. This had never been a problem for Connor; a motherless only child who had ceased mattering to his emotionally absent father.

But he started to understand now. For each mocking word from Stephen there was a friendly grin. Every playful clip around the head was soothed later with a joke and forgotten over a cool pint.

This is what it felt like; this was family.

It’s so…big - blu04blu08
(Becker, Connor, Lester)

Becker was amusing himself annoying Connor. It was fairly simple; ask enough stupid questions and he was quickly changed from excited explanations to quietly irritated statements. Then Lester walked past Becker and nodded to him to follow.

Wordlessly he left Connor who gave a sigh of relief and followed Lester to the bowels of the building near the lower loading bay. There, gleaming in the harsh fluorescent lights sat the biggest of its kind he had ever seen.

“Oh, Lester,” Becker breathed. “You do care.”

With no sense of shame he walked over and hugged the side of the tank.

Honey, I’m home - me
(Lester/Ryan)

Lester sank into the large sofa and surveyed his empty flat. When he sat still, it was almost silent, just like it had been for years now. Moving in after his divorce he had spent hours here trying to ignore the silence and the emptiness. Working late, not out of necessity any more, but out of a need just not to be here, alone, again.

He heard the sound of a key turning in the lock and the front door swinging open and then shut.

But not anymore.

Ryan’s grinning face appeared around the lounge door.

“Hi, honey, I’m home.”
