Or should I say, Father's Night? *bricked*
And author's notes, for those like to read:
To be honest, doing this comic was somewhat emotionally draining for me, especially with writing the dialogue. I had thought of doing a Father's Day comic since the beginning of May, but I put it off because I was afraid that Kaede's characterization wasn't like the tooth-rotting pictures of Kotetsu and Kaede on pixiv (I am such a sucker for such pictures, btw). After the events of episode 10, my prediction was correct, and my image of her changed significantly. To me, she's at the age where she becomes slightly more cynical isn't swayed by her dad's gifts anymore. Writing her dialogue required me to kind of disparage Kotetsu, and while doing so I felt so bad for him. He tries so darn hard, bless his soul. For that reason writing the comic was difficult--to the point that I did the script last (I usually write the script first).
On the plus side, I am thinking of doing two more T&B comics, which also centers around "Father's Day." From the scripts I wrote, both of these comics are more upbeat than this one, lol.
The moire effect was intentional, because I kinda liked the weird textured look of it (btw, I drew most of this on A4 canvas on SAI). But why the screentones are appearing darker than I imagined, I'm not sure--they looked fine on Photoshop *I am such a noob on the technical aspects of comicking*
