The JOR subbing team is always looking for new people to join us. It doesn't matter if you're an experienced subber, or is totally clueless on the subbing process. With a wide variety of positions open for membership, I'm sure you'll find something that you could help us with.
Here is a list of the positions needed by the team:

- Must have an acceptable command of English. It need not be perfect, though, as we do have an editor who will go over your tranlsations.
- Must know how to use MS Word or preferrably, Notepad. If you'll be working with pre-timed scripts, ability to use Aegisub is a plus [tutorial to follow]
- Prepares translation notes regarding any special terms or cultural references used in the script

Editor
- Checks for grammar, spelling and punctuation errors [Check out these sites for basic grammar rules: The Elements of Style, Common Errors in English, The Grammar Book]
- Must be able to rephrase scripts to normal, conversational English without losing the meaning of the translations
- Assists the translator in providing subbing notes for the viewers

Timer
- Adds timing to the translations
- Must have good internet connection, especially those intending to time for dramas [if this will be an issue, please state it in your application]
- Must be familiar with Aegisub [newbie timers, please send me a PM so I could teach you how to do this]
- Aside from the dialogues, the timer also times all the signs on screen
- Performs time-checking after the script has been edited

Graphics Artist
- Prepares banners, screencaps, splashes that will be used during the release of the videos
- Must be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Corel, or other softwares used for graphics design
- Knowledge in Adobe Premier Pro, Windows Moviemaker or Pinnacle is a plus since you may also be asked to make an audio video from approved graphics for the subbed radioshows [only for those who are experienced in such task]

Typesetter
- Assigns fonts [type, color, size], styles, effects and animations to translations and notes
- Must have basic knowledge on Aegisub, typesetting and the use of ASS tags
- Must be focused, patient and creative

Karaoke Timer
- Adds karaoke timing to songs used in the clips
- Must have basic knowledge on Aegisub

Quality Checker
- Checks for errors in translation, editing, timing, typesetting and karaoke
- Must be familiar with the Japanese language
- Must have basic skills in editing, timing and typesetting
- Preferrably with OCD :)

Uploader
- Uploads JOR releases to various direct download servers as assigned
- Prepares torrent and performs initial seeding in d-addicts [for drama releases]
- Must have good...or rather...amazing internet connection

* Newbies can start working with us as timers or editors. As you get more experienced, you can slowly go into typesetting, karaoke timing, and even QCing.

** Experienced applicants are first given a newsclip and a radioshow to work on just so we could be familiar on your style. Once the Project Leader (PL) approves your work, you can then sign up for other projects such as Cartoon KAT-TUN.

If you have any questions, you may send me a PM or you could send us an email at: jorsubs@gmail.com. Make sure that you put "Staff Recruitment" on the subject slot, ok?

Am looking forward to working with all of you! :)
