People are complaining because gas has gone from $2.90 to $3.50 in New England. There's a 60c price increase up here because they could ship the gasoline they're selling to you down to Georgia and sell it for $6/gal. Gas is that expensive in GA because they're running out of it. My point was that it's not "price gouging" if there's no gasoline left, it's supply and demand. It really sucks down in Georgia, but what are people supposed to do? Sell gasoline at normal prices so that everyone buys it at their normal rate and people run out?
In the Northeast gasoline went up by less than a dollar a gallon. People who can't afford that increase couldn't afford gasoline before.
