So I just read that Texas voted to ban same sex marriage. All I have to say is

FUCK YOU TEXAS!!!

I still can't believe that people actually think they have a place to say we can get married. It is not anyone's business and it is not up to them if I can marry another human being. It just goes to show that people think they can stick their nose in ( Read more... )

Look look at it this way...if one state passes it, which has happen, it will be everywhere soon. Beacause it will eventuall become a national case, and they can't go and say, oh u state leagleized it, well ur not married any more...give it a couple of years...I use to get realy up-set w/ the fact that I can't get leagly married, but after it was passed, n every gay couple flew up north n got married I realized that it will come...Plus r u suprised about texas??? U (well not u being gay n all lol) can't even have sex in any other possition other than missanary...It's tha law!!!

Well, don't be too hopeful, because they can go in and make your marriage null and void! Yes I will get upset about it because everyday these right wing fuckwads are furthering their plans to strike down on us when it comes to these rights.....hell just two years ago people didn't even bring up this issue and quite a few people never really challenged the idea, they with pretty much ok with it, but because of the mass hysteria and brainwashing done by such great "icons" as Jerry Falwell, Pat Roberson, and George W Hitler Bush people are starting to be very negative about this, our gym even revoked our membership because they told me and Skot that only married couple (man and woman) could have a "family" membership. If we wanted to continue use of the gym we had to sign seperate contracts (which meant more money per month from both of us). When I asked the owners they were rude to us and said well because Alabama passed some bullshit defining marriage between one man and one woman they "had" to "change their policies". Why did our gym ( ... )

I don't see Texas banning gay marriage as anything too surprising. Besides, it was never allowed in the first place, so what's the difference.

Yes it is not a suprise, but I used to live there and was rather shocked at the overwhelming majority of people who voted in favor of it, considering their major metro areas have some of the largest gay populations I have seen,
especially Houston!

To say "Besides, it was never allowed in the first place, so what's the difference."
is kind of a crazy ass thing to say!! Do you now realize that even if they did want to change their mind it's going to be 10 times harder now that it is an amendment to the state's constitution?? there is one thing to say no and another to stamp it into law!! besides it is really not up to the govt. to decide whether we marry or not! plus think back to the times of segregation.. imagine the same line used..
"Besides, blacks were never allowed to go in certain places in the first place, what's the difference?" well it made as much of a difference as this would make, FREEDOM!
