IMO since you mentioned Virgo II and the Fallout 'moon landing' actually did happen, I'd say that Cape Canaveral should be okay to have in this setting -- but it's fallen into ruins. Or at least that's what it looks like on the outside. *Secretly* there is actually an underground missile silo that was placed so that there would be missile launch sites in range of Cuba. Just in case. >_> Then you can have it feature in any number of plots-- gain access so they can swap the nuclear payload out for a satellite to be launched, stop the villains from launching the missile, collect secret technology that was hidden there, et cetera

Random thing that comes to mind: I vaguely recall some sort of Disney low-budget sci-fi TV "movie" (it kept repeating the same special effects snippet of a starship making exactly the same move, during scene transitions, because I guess they couldn't afford filming more of the model moving any OTHER way, so low was their budget) where one of their set pieces was supposedly a "satellite" that was once home to a "World's Fair in Space." It looked like it was filmed in some Disney storage warehouse with a bunch of floats and props and such.
But that might be an interesting idea: that there could be something OUT THERE that could be a usable habitation (with a little sprucing up), if only it could be reached.
There could be an EXP0 section that was called 'The World's Fair In Space', with the goal of presenting an exhibition 'as if it were in space'... The equivalence of Tomorrowland, as it were. Except the truth is that it was a cover for an actual Mimsy space program. So the space ark could be hidden in plain sight, almost.
Heh. I guess that could save me the road trip to Cape Canaveral. I suppose I could decide based on what sort of interesting material/inspiration I'm able to find for Cape Canaveral (e.g., what sort of tourist traps might be on the way, what sort of interesting factions might be active in the region). If I come up dry on ideas, your idea would be a nice way to consolidate things, so that once the PC group gets to the Mimsyverse, all of the action for the remainder of the campaign can take place within its boundaries (and EXP0 and Mimsyville).
