apparently sheehan was arrested for wearing an anti-war shirt to the state of the union last night. Civil Liberties whaaa?

I saw that too, and thought what a bunch of bull shit at first. But I think she was being charged on laws relating to demonstrating (or lobbying - I think?) in the Capital. And I'm totally cool with keeping out the lobbyists etc.

Also even if she didn't know the rules, a t-shirt is hardly the way to dress to appear with Congress. And it would have helped her (/us) more if she would have dressed appropriately so that they could have put her on TV and they could have talked about her during the speech and commentary.

Apparently it wasn't completely political either, as Republicans were removed too:

Beverly Young, wife of Rep. C.W. Bill Young of Florida chairman of the House Defense Appropriations subcommittee was removed from the gallery because she was wearing a T-shirt that read, "Support the Troops Defending Our Freedom."

yeah "interestingly" it wasn't in the mainstream reporting, I only stumbled upon it when I was looking for what Sheehan was actually charged with.

And, I'm still pissed about this appointing 2 justices thing.
