Well, you know, the whole political thing is a scam, run by people that just use it as a means of a job.

Yeah, I know, but wouldn't it be nice if they thought their job was to, y'know, do right by their constituants instead of just fuck them over?

In the final analysis, I don't think they intend to screw them over - I think they do when they take care of themselves - resulting in policies that screw their people.
