17th Century Poetry

I'm feeling "poetic" today. And I decided to share with you (especially you, English-speaking friends of mine) a poetic gem by Francisco de Quevedo, Spanish writer from the 17th century. Oh... It's lovely, and comes recommended from a trusted source in these matters. :-) Coincidentally, there is a woman on my f-list named Hell's Librarian who is looking for poetry.... any time period.... I will direct her towards this poem because I should. She loves to read .... LOVES it. She is one of the most voracious readers I can think of - always and exclusively posting about things she reads. It's neat that she shares this & so it will be lovely to reciprocate her gifts....
