portland sounds awesome. elliott smith grew up there and always said he loved it more than any other city.

it's pretty cool but wouldn't go totally out of my way, but they DO have the worlds BIGGEST book store here. Powells! It's really big!

There's not as much stuff to see as NYC, but it's still pretty cool.

it's pretty cool, but there's also a lot of bums asking for change ALL THE TIME. Which is kind of a downer.

both really. But Portland more so, and plus I know the areas in Sydney to avoid.
