"Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul ( Read more... )

If you are bothered by this journal friending you, report them to Abuse as an impersonator w/o a disclaimer.

ok, do you really think that I'm NOT an impersonator???

The real Joseph Smith Jr. who actually said that died in June of 1844. That is a well established fact.

BUT, just in case you or anyone else wants to complain, I'll say it for you all: I am not the real Joseph Smith Jr.

that said, happy reading :)

Put the disclaimer in your bio on your info page.

Darn, to read you, I'd need you on my friends page. Too bad that I don't really keep any pro or anti-LDS stuff on my friends page.

sorry 'bout that, but that won't be happening. If you're gonna be a Mormon you've gotta accept the stuff that the prophet said, you can't pick and choose.

You know..., as odd as it sounds, those are the teachings and wordings of testimonial bearing LDS people. But..., no, mormon's don't 'have' to accept it, if they don't there are consequences of varying degrees. Only they are explained in a little lighter tone than that, would you mind lightening up a wee tad bit? Jews have pretty much the same mandate...it just looks different.

Thanks...and Shalom 'peace'to all.

context my friend. somehow i believe that you are being sarcastic HMMM? But I also feel that you are indeed, what you may call "Christian," and this is a feeble attempt to de-humanize the work of Joseph Smith and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I hope that one day you find a place inside you to not be discriminatory towards any religion. Regardless of how crazy it may sound to you, it is someone's creedo and life faith.

I've read the context and am satisfied to say that I did not abuse it in this post, if however you can point out to me how i have abused it i will gladly remove it.

I am not attempting to de-humanize anyone, I am quoting a historical person out of a historical document. Joseph Smith actually said what I wrote in the History of the Church, Volume 6, look it up. If you think it is de-humanizing don't blame me! Your prophet said it, I'm simply quoting him.

What context would you put it in? sreppok May 19 2004, 11:01:41 UTC
I am curious, what is your take on this selection? It seems very plain and simple to me. I am not sure what you mean by "de-humanizing;" as far as I knew, that means somthing to like "taking the human-ness out of something."
