Okay, let's start off with: thank you's!
A big thank you to fruitbat00 and tasabian for the excellent v-gifts decorating my profile (two from fruitbat!!), well-wishes in a post from tallihensia, and an excellent new fanfic in 'the Friendship Plan' series from nicnac918!!

Finally: status updates... *waves white flag tiredly*
I've been incredibly busy at work and just wiped when I've gotten home. The last couple weeks have been particularly bad in this regard. (I more-or-less celebrated my birthday a little over a week late this year, which I suppose is better than not celebrating it at all...) When I haven't just collapsed after work, I've been zoning on reading Kindle books or webserials (mainly superhero fic, but not Smallville).
I'm also going to be away part of early August (work/professional-related stuff). As for outside of work stuff, I'm only about 50% unpacked currently. It's really just a mess; a lot of it needs to get archived (paperwork) or tossed (random crap I've picked up over the years). That really needs to get done soon, or it likely never will :-/
So, I don't know whether I'll be picking up updates to ongoing fanfic series anytime soon. I've edited a handful of things that are upcoming, as well as a few older fics that really need an update, but I haven't actually written anything much of anything new except for the upcoming birthday fics. Additionally, I saw the extended deadlines for the SVBB this afternoon, but I may still be sitting it out this year. I usually try to have a 'backup' (unposted) fic of at least 10K already sitting aside, in case I need it, before I sign up. I don't think I have that this year. Most of my fanfic writing work has been on updates to existing series than following out new concepts (and isn't that just scary to think about?). Anyway, I may-or-may-not sign up; it depends a bit on how the next week or so shakes out.
And hey, maybe eventually I'll be able to catch up with / follow everybody's LJ posts properly again? God, that would be nice...
Anyway, thank you everybody for the loads of birthday swag, and I hope to get you gals some good fic soon! :)
