so, i actually made it to albuquerque.  things are turning out better than i imagined.  i found a great place to live that's only a five minute bike ride from campus, and i got a kitten.  my adviser and i  had a productive meeting, and it i think i am really going to enjoy the water reuse project.  classes are fine so far.  more later.
