What are the time frames in which these donations occurred and what are the reasons Obama speaks out against them? Is he for business ethics, are they violating global standards, etc? What about the obvious banks/financiers here--since both of them have people who advise in finance, were they privy to the possible collapse or inflation of our economy's stability? Same questions for McCain, of course.

I've seen those numbers, but they are the donations made by employees of these companies, not just of the companies themselves. In some cases, it's obvious bribery at work, in some it's companies supporting the candidate who will benefit them the most, but a lot of it is also just people voting with their money.
