But...
you have to try to put the bible in its context. take the bible as liturature with its own historical, mythical, and functional attributes and it becomes very hard to say that the bible is in fact infalable. Also, human interpretation of the bible has been going on evern since it was written and before. i.e thomas jefferson. also, as an example, the letter Timothy contains many references to women being a secondary part of the church. Later research has shown, [ :) and i'm not just making this scientific stuff up :) ], that an unknown author used paul's name to give authority to his/her attempt at adressing issues that were going on in the church at the time. So anyway, this is part of the case for relativism and for seeing the Bible as containing many complex human atributes that one may choose to ignore or embrase as she wishes. Can there be relative truth? in a way, i think, each and every human being has an interpretation of "t"ruth. therefore, there is grey area. Know what I mean?
