Ah, my poor, neglected LiveJournal. As a surprising number of both real life and online friends have pointed out, I haven't given this thing a proper update in months. Why, you ask? Well, to be honest, I just haven't felt like it. Up until mid-December-ish, I was having a pretty goddamn lousy couple of months. Nothing life-alteringly bad or anything, just a long string of minor bits of suck that kept snowballing. Things have gotten loads better in the past few weeks, but I've been busy enough that LJ has been pretty far from the top of my to do list. Anyway, I won't bore you with all the little diaper biscuits that life dropped on me, but instead I'll focus on all the happy things that have happened to me in the past few months:
* Went to a really fun Halloween party hosted by one of my co-workers, wearing quite possibly the coolest Halloween
costume ever.
* Saw several awesome movies, including Crank, The Prestige, The Fountain and Pan's Labyrinth. Tina also forced me to finally sit down and watch The Dark Crystal, which I predictably loved.
* Discovered Deadwood, quite possibly the most gloriously filthy TV show ever aired.
* Got to see two of my all-time favorite bands play shows within a two months of each other (KMFDM on Oct. 14th & Gwar on Dec. 6).
* Was voted partner of the quarter at work and got a neat-o embroidered shirt for my hard work.
* Had a surprisingly fun, non-drama-filled time at my store Christmas party at Dave & Buster's. Got pleasantly toasted on not-so-pleasantly priced drinks and proceeded to beat some ass at Street Fighter II Turbo.
* Listened to more Skinny Puppy in the span of two months than I have in the past two years.
* Scored uber dork points by getting invited to my local comic shop's store Christmas party. Said party was held at
Sal Grosso, where I stuffed myself with approximately half a cow worth of meat.
* Had an indescribably wonderful Christmas down at my mom's house with Christine & Tina. My mom managed to score us a Wii somehow, which was awesome, but beyond that, it was so nice to spend some really mellow quality time with loved ones. After a two month long shitstreak, it was exactly what I needed.
* Had a great New Year's Eve with Christine, Tina & Gabby. Got completely sloshed and played drunken Wii bowling and Trivial Pursuit '80s until the wee, wee hours of the morning.
And finally, speaking of New Year's, I've made a few modest resolutions. Well, they're really more goals than resolutions, but anyway, here goes:
* Get paid for writing something and/or see something I've written get published. Also, I'd like to try and write more in general.
* Try to make it out to the local park at least once a week to practice
tricking (and not kill myself in the process).
* Work on music more (much more, ideally).
* And, of course, post more in LiveJournal!
