So many great things about this update--namely, that it happened. Your portrayal of Mercedes was perfect, and I really love her relationship with Rachel. You do such a great job in this series of weaving in the episodes despite it being an AU, and this chapter was no exception. The exclusion of Jesse was nice without it being obvious, and the Finn bit at the end...duh duh duhhhhh. I especially loved that you changed "Jar of Hearts" to "A Thousand Years," which kept the artist the same--great way to keep it close to the universe of the show, but also AU ( ... )

She shook her head slightly before pulling back and looking up at him. “You give me everything I could ever want,” she said, focusing on his eyes and pleading with him to believe her.
Her desperation to make sure he knows how much she wants to stay with him and keep their relationship going is so powerful here, considering she was hurting so badly just a short time before. I feel like these are strong moments for Rachel in a way, since she decides what she wants most so quickly, and then just toughs out the things that are in her way of that goal. (If that made sense...kinda feels like it didn't, lol.)
