So, i was getting nostalgic, and started thinking how these really are the best years of my life, and how I like my friends, and how I don't really want things to change. Dude bro, don't be silly. If they warned us about the future then we would have changed something in our behavior, no longer necessitating their travel back in time and effectively eliminating our memory of it. Duuuuuh! Don't you know how this works? Back to the Future rules are generally canon. In fact, we've probably chilled with our future selves a whole bunch of times. Gahd.

Maybe by the time time travel was invented, humans have moved to a different planet and have either forgotten nor care about primitive Earth so they visit the past of their current planet and not us Earthlings?
