(no subject)
Well since I have nothing to do right now I think that I will update about my mission trip.
Saturday- Woke up early and went to GPC for our "Send Off" which was early to me (which was about to change durastically). I pull in the parking lot and see one 15 passenger van and im thinking TERESA MUST BE CRAZY IF SHE THINKS THAT WE ARE ONLY GOING TO TAKE ONE 15 PASSENGER VAN! well as it turns out the other 15 passenger van got stuck in chicago that was supposed to be back but wasnt so we got a dodge grand caravan and a dodge durango so it all worked out better becuase we had more room for our stuff. So we got our send off and we left. I was in the 15 passenger van with Teresa, Jan, Tyler, Tim, John, Casey, Megan, Katie, and Ryan. It was fun and for those who are intrested, i'm having my period! haha the look on that old couple in the pickup was priceless! well we arrived in louisville and went to pizza hut and ice cream and came back and played truth or dare in the dark hallway which was fun. Then we did some other random stuff and went to bed.
Sunday-woke up early and packed up the vans and went to the morning service. it was really early. I fell asleep during the long prayer. whoops. then we hit the road. I was in the front seat of the minivan this time with Jim, Tim, and Ryan. It was fun, but i enjoyed being with more ppl then just two who were really quiet.we arrived in nashville and went downtown and went shopping and went to eat at a bar and then we headed back to the cars and started for the church. we arrived at the church unpacked the cars, got tossed out of the first room I was in, then set up in the room with the advisors, that is never going to happen again that was the most boring nights during a trip that i think i have ever had to endure in my life. From this point on i will always be in the room with the no or least amount of advisors. It was horrible. Well so we went to the meeting in the christian life center and I think that we deffinitly scared everybody in that gym. Well so we just kinda chilled for the rest of the night and got our first showers in 2 days. and then chilled for the rest of the night.
Monday- first day of work. I think that we got alot done and we bonded with our home owner alot. In my group there was Molly, Kaitlin, Tyler, Katie, Kevin, Alyssa, Ryan, and if i missed any one i didnt mean to. We got a lot done, a lot more then I thought that we would get done.
Tuesday- We got some more work done but then it started raining so we got a little break and we got soaked from our homemade paint tarp slip ‘n slide. Well when we got done with the slip ‘n slide we went up on the porch and played big booty and had popsicles. After that we got done working we went back and took showers and chilled and stuff.
Wednesday- We had a half day, we worked a little then had lunch and then after lunch we cleaned up and packed up. We then got into the cars to our first stop, which was Nashville shores (a water park). After a little fun and relaxation, we looked over to the lake and you could see a storm coming in that would hit us in like 1 minute so we packed up quickly and headed for the changing area and changed then me and a couple more ppl went mini golfing which was really boring. Then we left to our first unknown destination, which was jacks bbq, which was highly recommended, and highly nasty at the same time, well at least I know I didn’t like it. Then we went to our second unknown destination, which was the wildhorse saloon for line dancing which was awesome! That was the best part of the week I think. We got to listen to awesome county music and just had a chance to have some real fun. Then we went back and just chilled for a little while.
Thursday- Thursday was mostly the big finish day except for the siding and other touch ups and stuff. We painted the porch and did some stuff on the deck and started to clean the house a little. Then we had the “Block Party” which no one showed up to besides us the homeowner robin and nataile (reconstruct ppl) so we ate and left kinda earlier then we were supposed to be back so Gary, Kevin, Me, Ryan, and Tyler all made our way to lowes to pick up a light and some cleaner that we needed for the house on our way we saw this civil war cemetery which we stopped at for a little while and drive around after that we went to lowes and got all the things that we needed to finish the house. On our way back Gary decided to stop at DQ to get some ice cream which we were supposed to finish before we got back. We all finished but some how a DQ cup got in the meeting room and all hell broke loose along with the tampon/pad/liner raid that happened to the other boys room while we were gone. So everyone got a good yell and cry and talk and then we went on to do our business.
Friday- This was the last day of work that we needed to finish and then I headed to pick up the dog with Jan, Sandra, and Alyssa. Jake is a very strong dog and he practially walked me to where we were going. We came back everything was waiting to be put in the minivan and we got ready to go but Sandra seemed to think that Jan was staying all day to clean her house. Which didn’t happen, because she kept finding new things for us to do that needed to be done that she didn’t want to pay or hire some1 to do. So we got all packed up and left for the other groups house and thought that we were going to help them finish because they had a lot left to do. But when we got there Teresa was being her usual self and she told us that we wernt allowed to help, so we went to sonic and got some ice cream and then we went back and just kinda chilled for the rest of the time and got all ready for the vans to be packed in the morning.
Saturday- We woke up really early and got on the road, this drive wasn’t as fun as the other ones and doesn’t really need explaining because it was so boring. Then we got back I went home and took a much needed nap.
All in all I think that it was a very good trip and I think that everyone got closer to each other and god and it put a lot of things in perspective for a lot of ppl. Maybe pictures to come if I want to make a photo show, but I’m not sure yet.
