Oh man, that is an awful situation. I have no idea what to tell you to do. I want to say for you to comfort her but she might get mad at you for interfering. I'm sorry I can't help you.
Wonderful book. We read it for our college group at the beginning of the year, and it seriously opened my eyes to some hidden stuff I had grudges over. As for your travailing friend. Show her you are there for her, no matter the situation, and would love to bring her back to a loving, caring group of friends. Honestly, relationships like these are hard, and sometimes the person suffering won't realize or acknowlege this for quite some time. She probably won't listen to anyone, regardless of the obvious truth, and will have to come to the same conclusions on her own, which takes lots of time if she is as disillusioned as she seems with the relationship. Let her know you care about her so much, and you want to see her smile and be happy again. When she realizes her emotional trauma is spilling over and others can see it, she might take the necessary steps to get out of the relationship. It's a difficult situation, so I wish you luck, and if it's over, let me know how it went
