Upon checking my home newspapers website, I participated in a poll about the The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. I think a fair few people worry about the Poppy Appeal glorifying war, perhaps that is what those people meant. I know I've questioned wether I agree with it. And I've decided yes I do, in the first world war the majority of men were conscripted, they had no choice to fight and it was a terrible, terrible thing that so many died. And it should not be forgotten. However I've recently heard some stuff about people who wear white poppies on Remembrance day because they believe that war is wrong, but still want to remember those who gave their lives for their country. I think it's a terrible shame that people thought WW1 was "the war to end all wars" and yet the world just keeps on fighting, never learning from its past mistakes.
