I don't know how i feel about teaching our children about America's roots. i mean, is there another way to teach them that America was founded by a guy who wanted gold from Spain, and then he gave small pox to the people who were already inhabiting the land he found.  it started there that people could not see eye to eye with someone different from

I think that's why they don't teach anything real about our history until high school. =\

You hit the nail on the head, my dear. The undercurrent of racism in this country is so gross. And when people try to argue that we are a "post-racial" society I can't help but roll my eyes. So much of what has been going on lately is proof otherwise. :(
