I was amused by the moment in last night's debate when Kerry accused Bush of benefiting from the small business tax cut by his ownership of a timber company, to which Bush replied "I own a timber company? That's news to me."

NPR this morning plugged this site as a good place to check out the validity of these kinds of claims.

Clearly, though, the best line of the night was: "Need some wood?"

Everyone I've spoken to, at the mention of that line, sat, mouth agape, wondering if the President of the United States had just said "need some wood." A close second was the passing reference to "battling green eyeshades," which, while not quite as random as the wood reference, was still pretty obscure.

Also amusing was that fact that a surprising number of my co-workers thought Cheney was plugging "fatchicks.com."

Maybe what Cheney actually said was fatcheck.com Wouldn't that have been funny?

The "rumors on the internets" was also amusings.
