Summary: Minseok isn't a morning person. Luhan's morning kiss does just the thing to wake him up, letting him know everything will be okay.
On most days Minseok wakes up to the smell of strong coffee brewing in the kitchen while he battles to remove himself from the crumpled cotton sheets, his toe nails sharp from a half-assed cut three weeks old and it shows when his toe nails get caught and he groans, kicking his legs as if that were the best solution.
His nose searches for the familiar scent and his legs begin to work on their own, mind still groggy and half-on, half-off when he gets up from the comfort of his bed and makes his way out of the room. He knows the room to be slightly messy from last night’s heavy events, the aftermath of beer and the smell of after party when they had gotten home and undressed in the living room. From then they had pushed each other against the wall, taking turns for dominance because both could do so if willing.
They had taken it to the room where Minseok gently pressed the palms of his hands to Luhan’s chest and had pushed him onto the bed that sprung up with Luhan’s body, hovering over him with his legs over the latter’s small waist and had proceeded to plant chaste kisses up the blonde’s neck to his chin, feeling him with and move beneath him, needy, but neither of them were rushing.
They took it slow and sensual, fingers entwining and souls becoming one even if it’s a pattern etched into their skin. A show of love and everything sweet, through the bitter that is thrown at them during the day, at night they come together and all of those bitter feelings, words, every worry was gone the moment their lips met.
Minseok brushes strands of auburn hair from his eyes. His legs feel limp and numb and his body is still in the process of waking up, but nothing wakes him up like coffee in the morning, just for him.
The first thing Minseok notices the moment he steps onto white tiles is that the kitchen is slightly a mess, cups here and there, the occasional specks of crumbs from last night’s dinner they forgot to put away. Minseok becomes uncomfortable around messes, however his mind is redirected when something soft and gentle touches the flat of his palm and he looks over blinking when fingers entwine with his and he feels the hand squeeze tight.
He feels safe and secure.
Minseok’s eyes flutter down and his heart returns to a steady rhythm, breathing in and exhaling.
“You look tired,” Luhan whispers even if there is no need to, maybe because he doesn’t want to give his boyfriend a migraine and maybe because his voice is still hoarse from last night.
Minseok snorts through his nose and shakes his head, pressing his thumb and forefinger to his temple. He holds a defeated look, though the corners of his lips pull up in a short smile.
“It is because I am, especially after”-
His boyfriend stops him mid-sentence by giving a boisterous laugh, hunched over from where he stands in front of Minseok, arm hooked over his stomach when he doubles over in laughter; his jaw looks disconnected and his expression is unlovely, Minseok also finds it adoring.
“Don’t remind me.”
Luhan sets the mug of fresh brewed coffee in front of Minseok, seated quietly at the small circle shaped dining table that should have been in the dining room, however, it was moved due to new carpeting and hadn’t moved since then. Laziness got the better of them.
Minseok’s fingers curl around the handle of the mug and he pulls it close with his dominant hand, carefully inspecting the liquid stirring in the cup. He takes his time before he even drinks, eyes open and unmoving, just staring blankly at a chestnut table whereas his boyfriend takes a seat across from him, watching him.
Minseok pulls the mug to his lips and takes a sip, dragging his tongue across his lip when there is a burning sensation on his bottom lip, one that he’s used to, and he gently places the mug back down onto the table to look up.
His blonde boyfriend is starry-eyed, a large, beautiful smile blooming as gracefully as a rose in spring. He has an eye-smile, long eyelashes complementing his pale complexion and blonde locks close enough to gold that fall to the tip of his ears and curl.
He’s lovely.
Minseok’s toes curl at the warming feeling that collects at his gut. The coffee is hot off the burner but nonetheless a flavorful experience, his inside turn to mush and he feels a serene calmness wash over when he stares over at Luhan.
“How is it?”
Minseok blinks when he takes another long sip, ignoring the fact that there are leftovers above his top lip and where the bottom of his nose is.
“Delicious as always, you don’t have to keep asking.” Minseok rests the cup down gently and wraps both hands around the mug, warmth radiating to his hands and making everything melt into all the right places.
“I just want to make sure it meets your standards, I don’t want to disappoint.”
Minseok feels his heart strings tug and his stomach does a flip. Luhan always manages to make him feel like a blushing school girl, head over heels in love.
“You’ll never disappoint me.”
Luhan looks over, wide eyed and now he is the blushing sailor, fumbling to remain cool when Minseok puts a hand over his mouth and laughs into his palm.
“Now get over here, I want to share.”
Luhan scoffs and rolls his eyes playfully, giving his boyfriend a mischievous grin before he gets up from his seat and meets Minseok at the other side.
He sits in Minseok’s lap and wraps his thin arms around his boyfriend’s neck, cheek to cheek when he swings his legs.
The blonde male, waiting till Minseok is curious, turning his head to see Luhan eye to eye when Luhan moves in and gently kisses him.
Minseok’s heart flutters and his palms are sweaty like the day he had confessed to his boyfriend, eyes opening like the very first time before he closes them and falls into the kiss. His hands entwine around Luhan’s back and he pulls him closer just before the latter pulls back and smiles toothily at him.
“Are you finally awake?” Luhan’s still smiling ear to ear, white teeth and all.
Minseok smiles back and rests his head against Luhan’s.
“Only with your morning kiss.”
