One of my co-workers got promoted and so tonight we were all going to go out and celebrate, but I got a call saying it had been cancelled because our branch got robbed at gunpoint two minutes before close. There were two guys who jumped the counter and really, that's all that I know. The police are still there now and I want more than anything to

Oh no! I hope everyone is ok and everything and it's awful that there's really nothing you can do. I've only once in my life worked in an industry that involved regular hold-ups, and I was thankfully never involved in one despite working the overnight shift, though I have to say that this was probably mostly because there were often cops hanging out during the night when they had nothing to do, since we were the only place open at all hours and we had coffee. A friend tried to get me a bank job once and I was seriously just too nervous about exactly this sort of thing. I have a lot of admiration for people who deal with that risk every day.
