Okay, my update about the haunted town, as promised!~

So we left at 4:30 in the late afternoon to get up to Canon City, and whewey, it was a loooong drive. We didn't get up there until...7:46 if I remember correctly. There were so many funny cars decked out in the Halloween spirit on the highway...we saw quite a few with little coffins on the roof and one with a zombie lookin' dude sticking out of one. I thought that as pretty clever and I had a few LOL moments with the creativity.

We stopped for gas in a little town outside of Canon City and this place was ten types of creeptastic. It looked like a rinky dink mountain town you could very well disappear in...almost like the set for Psycho. I met my friend Retta's brother's girlfriend (who I guess isn't really well liked) but she seemed pretty cool. They did that couple thing where the guy holds the girl from behind and they waddle around together like some sort of new species (made from romanticism -_-) and that was awkward. Especially when they were in this truck driver's way and refused to separate themselves in order to move faster. Why do people do that? >__>

We then stopped at a Wendy's to get us some eats before going the rest of the way, and the worker in the drive through window was having a nervous breakdown trying to figure out our order. I mean...there were eight of us, but it's okay to stop and take a breath, you know? I didn't realize how distraught he was until we pointed out that he missed one drink and I kid you not, dude looked like he was going to turn in his two weeks.

After that exciting experience we continued on! Some guy hit a deer and I was writing so I didn't see the carnage, but Retta's boyfriend was like, "Just turn around! You can still see it!"

I LOL'd and asked him why I'd want to traumatize myself so early in my young life, and he didn't have a good enough response so I continued writing. XDDD

So we finally get up there and half of us go to stake a spot in the super long line of other people who trekked out to BFE to get spooked, and Retta's boyfriend went to buy the tickets. The lady selling them at the counter accidentally sold him 6 for the price of three so we all got to keep a bit of money, and while I felt bad about it, I was a little bit happy to make my wallet feel full again.

Retta n Me, freezing in line.

So we waited in the dark forever and from the top of this hill came a creepy bus which took only a few groups at a time to a place we could not see. The bus's name was Artemis and Retta's brother said, "You've seen that tv show, right?"

I stared at him and answered, "Uh...Sailor Moon?" Cause, you know...Artemis! But apparently I said something that couldn't be forgiven because I got laughed at for a good five minutes. And I still don't know what tv show he was talking about, with some character named Artemis.

<--Artemis

On a random note, we also contemplated my extra rib. I have no idea why I have one but I always make a habit of saying if I don't meet Mister Right before I'm 30, I'm just gonna make him from my rib. Whihc inspired Retta's boyfriend to sing, "From Adam's rib he made Eve, from Kim's rib, she made Steve."

We'll see how that turns out, LOL.

Anywho, the bus picked up up and the driver told us to turn off our cell phones, and he turned off all the lights and away we went...for a drive that lasted all of twenty seconds. It was anticlimactic. When we got out we had to hike up a hill to get the yet another line and we waited there for, no joke, two and a half hours. We played the movie alphabet game, the song alphabet game, contemplated our existences, and finally made it to the front.

TOWN OF TERROR

Okay, first I want to explain that this town is an actual haunted town from Way-Back-in-the-Day-Colorado, so getting through it took about twenty minutes. We first entered and some crazy guy leaped out of a shadow, and while I let out some undignified squeal, Retta tried to run, only to end up kicking me in my shin. I *still* have a bruise. I think Mister Grim Reaper thought it was funny cause he faded back into the shadows, laughing.

We continued down the dirt path, making our way towards a building, and a patch of dirt flew up from the ground and some dude jumped out like, "RAWR!" Retta's boyfriend's girlfriend was like, "That looks fun!" And as the guy reburied himself he muttered, "It is."

<--hahaha

So, we went into this house and had to go through this...I'm sure it has a name. It's like two huge balloons pressed together and you squeeze in between them. OMG it so so full of static electricity that I thought I'd become an Xmen character. When I emerged from the other side, my hair was flying around my head like the snakes on Medusa. We all laughed about it, all until some woman crawled out of a wood panel and said she wanted to eat us. We then decided it was time to move on.

Next we had to climb through these tunnels, and the floor was soaking wet. That was gross. Especially because it was already super cold and...I mean...why was the floor wet? When we got to the end we all had to climb into a box, which I'm assuming was supposed to be like a coffin, because they locked us in, spun us around, and banged on it. That was actually pretty funny.

When we got out we went into another building and they made us divide up and climb into our own boxes, where they locked it and spun it, and while I think this was the coolest part, my motion sickness kicked in and I found myself crouched at the bottom like the sad excuse for a young person that I am. *sad*

So when we all got out we were directed outside and there was this HUGE scarecrow...it stood about ten feet tall and it's head was enormous...and after we walked by it started following us. Retta got scared again and, of all the things she could think to say she said, "Oh crap, it's head is big!"

HAHAHA. Oh, man.

Okay, so we were now at the end and there was one lone chainsaw guy who wasn't very intimidating at all. *sigh* So we wandered past him and made our way to where the bus was, ready to take us back down to the main center

. <--Me and the others being scarier than the Haunted Town, hahaha...>_>

It was raining pretty hard on our drive back, and I won't lie, I was fast asleep.

I got home at two in the morning, climbed into bed and didn't have scary dreams at all. :D

UNTIL the snow came...!!! D8
