Fanime Report! *salutes*

Here comes  a picture heavy post of my Fanime experiences, along with awesome cosplay and stories of hilarity. I wish I was better at writing diary posts...lol.

Day Zero

Reyn, LB (my roommates) and I left at 4 am on Thursday to catch one flight to LAX, enjoy an hour layover, and then hop our final flight to San Jose. We had expected California weather and instead got Seattle, with clouds spitting rain. A friend of ours that lives in Cali offered to be our chauffer, and so he grabbed us from the airport and after checking into the hotel, went to the Winchester Mystery House. *cue dramatic music*.

Talk about the weirdest gift shop ever. I would hazard a guess that 5% of the merchandise had anything to do with the actual house...the rest was...I dunno. It reminded me of when I used to travel to the mountains and ended up in little towns that had nothing but shops with trinkets you'd only contemplate buying your grandma. Porcelain pigs kissing, jeweled pens...but the tour was cool. It probably would have been more epic if we didn't have an overly energetic 4 year old a screaming baby on the tour with us, but hey, we got to wear bump hats!

Truth be told, the house was wicked awesome but not nearly as creepy as I had hoped it would be. I half wanted a ghost to leap out of the basement or something. I'll just blame the little kids. They probably scared the post-living away.

After making our way back to the hotel we all changed in to One Piece gear for the Day Zero meet-up. A lot of seemingly professional photographers bombarded us as we were leaving the hotel, including...I can't remember his name but his card says Sojian so that is who he shall be for this post.  He was fun and we took pictures for a good amount of time before departing for Johnny Rockets (an OP meet-up staple) where me met a lot of people we knew from last year at AX. It was so fun!

Luffy (LB) and meat, and Zoro (our chauffeur) looking stoic, as usual.

We didn't get any group pictures at the dinner. *sigh* Here are some nice ones from when we were bombarded:

And after Johnny Rockets we were exhausted from the day and retired for the night, because we're old like that.

Day One:

This was the day I think we were both excited for AND dreading, because it was our Avatar cosplay day. Which meant it was going to take us ages to get in costume. For Zuko and Azula's costumes there are about 10 different pieces (and a scar) and Katara's has wraps that have to be carefully done was well. We got up at 7:30 in the morning and didn't make it out until almost 11; it was pretty intense. But the costumes looked amazing and when we got to the fountains outside of the convention center we met the highlight of the trip, Dani and Emily. Coolest people ever, hands down.

Here are some shots from the meet-up, and then some shots we took on our own. (And Dani's like a professional photographer, for real.)

Man Toph!!!!

Azula getting water-bended.

Sibling love...or LB fixing my boot.

Because the theater episode was the best episode ever.

And then...after we took a bunch of photos, we met Dustin. Who will later be packaged with Anton. Because they are full of fanservice...and Dustin is REALLY tall. But we'll get to those next. For now, a bit of deja vu:

So, after a long day of Avatar-ing, we decided to check out Dustin's panel about martial arts poses. And we met Anton. And this ensued:

...and so when we heard they would be at the yaoi bingo panel that night...we decided we *had* to go. But that wasn't until Day 2.

Day 2:

One Piece meet-up day!

First up, the Davy Back Games!

Challenge One: Which team can down soda the fastest. Poor guy on our team. He threw up. O_o LB and Reyn did great though! <3

Next challenge was old school with the card game War. I'm kind of lame and forgot how to play, but our team won again anyways. :D

And the last game was 1-Peace. Reyn made it so far *__*  Our team won this one in the end too.

*sigh* Me losing because I have the concentration skillz of a goldfish.

But we won!

Yay! We won figurines and pins. :D

So we went back to the hotel and changed, did some Dealer's Room-ing and then headed out for the Masquerade which was before Bingo.
We found a camera and used our ninja skillz to track down it's owner...and...waited for bingo.

After seeing the exciting world of yaoi bingo first hand, Dani and I attempted to bribe Anton and the smooth-talking Sean to pose for us, but Sean disappeared before we could hold them to their handshake promises. In the meantime, we got to see pretty boys undress other boys and bite them and stuff. And we got cute fangirly pictures:

Me 'n Dani!

Me 'n Emily!

Reyn 'n I! <333

Fangirling! Because we were super hyper.

After that we all trekked back to the hotel and ordered pizza and laughed...a LOT. I'm so glad I met these two. :D

Day Three:

We got up early in the morning and went to take Soul Eater pics because we still had to go to the Dealer's Room before our flight later in the day. Dani took photos again, and here's how amazing they were:

Sojian happened to pass by and got a bunch of photos of us so I can't wait to see how they turn out! After that it was shopping and then our flight home. Here are some more pics from the con:

I am going to make this.

Potter Puppet Pals!

Black Gai Sensei! With tears! HAHA

Oofuri! *___* I met Vespabee and she is super sweet! And I want a Nishiura hat.

Prince of Persia!~

AWE! An itty bitty Kiki!

And AAAH COSPLAY ROYALTY!! *__________*

All in all it was a fantastic trip. Next up, Anime Vegas and Yaoi-con! :DDD
