Kon was used to Tim getting the look. It was pretty much a daily occurrence, what with Tim’s bright blue eyes, longer unkept hair, and a smile that seemed to creep out of nowhere, blind the world, and disappear as quickly as it had first appeared. Yes; about once or twice a day, Kon noticed that Tim was being checked out.

But today was different. So was yesterday, for that matter. Actually, the last few times they’d been off duty from saving the world, the look was everywhere. And what was worse, it was no longer just a look. People were starting to act.

Tim was noticing it too, which was the strangest thing about the whole ordeal-usually he was blissfully unaware of how freaking gorgeous he was, and how every time he unconsciously strutted his stuff down the street, women who just happened to be looking got pregnant.

It should have been no surprise when the straw broke the camel’s back. Not that Kon had realized that Tim suddenly minded all of the unwanted attention-damn it if Tim didn’t have the world’s best poker face. But on one, bright sunny afternoon, while they were enjoying a rather boring stroll in a pristine little park, Tim simply snapped, dropped his guise of normal teenager, and took a woman clear out by backhanding a pressure point on her neck.

Kon had seen it, of course. The woman had squeezed Tim’s butt. Now Tim simply stared down at her unconscious form-and dude, she was pretty hot in an Egyptian sort of way-and Tim panted, trying to mentally collect the marbles he’d just lost.

“This is becoming ridiculous,” Tim rubbed his eyes.

Kon, still in a muted shock that borderlined amusement, looked around to see if anyone else had seen his best friend Jackie Chan an older woman to unconsciousness. Luckily, they were alone.

“Well, I’d say,” he said finally. “If there aren’t enough criminals for you to practice on in Gotham, I’d be happy to lend you some of mine in Metropolis.”

Tim simply looked at him, and when Kon felt his heart go all gooey, he had to bite back pointing at Tim and shouting, ‘That’s the reason people go all grabby-hands with you!’.

“Uh…” Tim hardly ever looked exasperated, but now, he looked like the walking dead. “She’s from the League of Assassins.”

A second glance at the poor collapsed woman in a miniskirt, heels, and bright pink lipstick told Kon that Tim needed a vacation.

“Yeah, she could totally take you out with her purse-maybe there’s a brick in it-“

“I’m being serious!”

“You know that people don’t have to be evil to hit on you, right?” Kon asked, seriously. Tim-poor Tim who struggled so hard with commitment and probably just…attraction in general-it was completely possible that he viewed love as an enemy. He was just that logical.

“She is evil,” Tim retorted with a deadpanned stare. “Most of the women who have been attracted to me lately have been,” he explained while frowning. “And maybe that guy from yesterday.”

Kon decided to soak that all in, what with the women attracted to Tim suddenly being assassins and a man-“Wait. A guy hit on you?” Not that he was surprised, but in all honesty, that was his territory. “Is something going on that I should know about?”

Kon wondered after the fact if he should have asked at all. What was he expecting? For Tim to admit he was gay? For Superboy to take Red Robin’s hand, and for them to fly off into the clouds together? Lame.

“My dad’s arch enemy wants my seed.”

Luckily Kon wasn’t drinking anything, because if he had been, Tim would surely be showered in it. The look on his face was apparently enough to finally make Tim show some signs of life, finally-the third-running boy wonder dug a hand through his hair, sighed, and shook his head.

“It’s true. And all of these people-“ he motioned towards the woman, “-have been sent to, I don’t know-“

“Have your babies?” Kon looked appalled and grossed out and terrified and incredibly entertained all at once. Then he looked offended. “But I haven’t even gotten to first base with you!”

“You want to go to first base with me?”

Kon had thought his intentions had been made quite clear, but in comparison with Unconscious Girl and what Tim had probably been dealing with, he discovered his methods had been rather subtle. “I…maybe?”

Great. Now he felt insecure.

Tim, as usual, looked like a human calculator, processing things much more complex than numbers. When a conclusion was reached, his eyes lit up, and he took a few steps forward. He rose on his feet and tugged Kon down a bit-Kon forgot how tall he was sometimes-and pecked him lightly on the lips.

Chaste, yeah. But even chaste from Tim Drake was worth something.

“There.”

“Where?” Kon asked, too swept up in the small moment to actually think.

“Here,” Tim poked his mouth. “On your lips. Reassurance.” Tim smiled awkwardly and Kon, for once in his life, was completely and utterly grateful he had a picture-like memory.

“I don’t know how reassured I can be when you’ve got a league of people trying to rape you.”

Tim shook his head turned around, obviously ready to move to a different topic. “I’m sure I can manage.”

“You better not have sex with any of them.”

“I won’t, Kon,” Tim sighed, walking away.

“I’m serious!”

“Yeah, yeah…” Tim waved one hand while he pocketed the other, and slowly made his way from the park as Kon watched, frowning, but somehow not all that mad.
