Hello once again!

Time for some more pictures and stories.   All this and more after the cut.

Last week I went to a resort city to the south of Sapporo called Noboribetsu.   It's really famous for its hot springs, called onsen (温泉) in Japanese.   It was quite an experience, being naked with a bunch of Asian guys I didn't know.   Notice I didn't say Japanese.   About half the people at the resort were Chinese.

But it was nice.  Reminded me of summers at Allen's house in high school.   Not the naked part, mind you.  But being in a hot tub outside watching the moon.

The town is also famous for its oni (鬼), a type of Japanese demon.   I got some pictures with them:

I had never seen blue oni before.

This guy was my favorite.

On another note, the beer garden (ベールガーデン)  festival is going on right now in Sapporo!  It's been going on for about a month now, but I finally got a chance to go last week.

Each block of Odori Park (大通公園) is devoted to a different brand of beer.   It's a pretty big festival that goes on every single day.   According to one of my students, it's the second largest beer festival in the world.  Pictured above is the Sapporo Beer section.

Here is the Kirin Beer section, the area that I drank.  Of coruse, we drank in the grass field behind this picture.  There weren't any seats anywhere else.

These are the girls we sat with.  I've got a date with the girl on the left this Thursday.  With the aount of one-time dates I've had so far, I'm not really expecting much to come of it.  But still, she is really cute.

I'm going again tomorrow with another friend (male).  That should be fun.

And Grave of the Fireflies just came on.  How depressing.  I've been meaning to watch it, but now it would ruin my mood.
I've gotta work tomorrow morning.   I'm not looking forward to that, but it won't be bad I suppose.  School starts again Monday.  That'll be nice.

Peace out, LJ.
