Claire walked into her office briskly, Sylar following her.

“I told you I’m sorry, Claire. You have to believe me,” Sylar plead and not in a convincing way.

“Sylar Gabriel Gray or whatever you name is, I don’t take you apology serious. You know why? Because what you did was unacceptable, and I don’t accept unacceptable,” Claire said firmly, snapping her fingers for the two servants in the room to bring her a chair. And they did.

Sylar kneeled beside the blonde woman sitting in the chair. He took her right hand in both of his. “Claire Bennet, the first and last Queen of United Kingdom of America, I’ve made my apology. I sincerely hope that you accept it, if you don’t you make a very sad man out of me.”

Claire sighed heavily and rolled her eyes. She took her hand from his and placed it on the armchair. “Fine, I think about it and when I’ve made up my mind I’ll send a messenger for you to come here.”

Sylar bowed his head down. “That’s all I require from you, Claire.”

“Claire what?”

“Queen Claire.”

Claire smiled brightly and nodded. “You may leave now; I have business to take care of.”

Sylar stood and backed up back to the door, not turning around.

Three Weeks Later In the Same Room

A knock on the door, Claire smiled and made sure that her clothing and hair was decent for a Queen. “Come in.”

Sylar walked in, hands full of blue roses. Before he walked closer to Claire, he bowed. “My Queen, I come with these roses, hoping that you have made your mind.”

“Yes, I have. Come closer,” she ordered.

Sylar came to stand next to her and gave her the roses. “Blue ones, you said they were your favourite.”

“Yes they are, and these are beautiful. Thank you,” Claire said, taking the roses and smelling them. She went to her desk and put the roses on it. She motioned for Sylar to sit in the chair in front of her desk and sat on her own chair.

After Sylar had seated, she took out a paper from one of the folders on her table. “This is why I am going to apologize from you.”

Sylar was confused. “Why, my Queen. I don’t understand. I thought this was because of me and my mistake.”

Claire smiled even wider, showing her teeth. “No worries about that. I have a signed paper from one of my staff members saying it was his fault.”

Sylar couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Fine, well, that’s good for me. So, what are you going to do to him?”

“Execute him, of course,” Claire said it like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Now Sylar was worried. “Are you sure that it was him?”

“Yes, yes. He explained everything to me, but what he did was wrong and he needs to be punished,” Claire told without any hint of sorrow or guilt in her voice for the man.

Sylar couldn’t take it anymore. “No, it was me. I was the one who scared the prince off. Don’t punish him punish me.”

Claire was surprised by his outburst but pleased. “I see. But I knew that already. I just wanted for you to admit it.”

“What?”

“Yes, I knew it was you who threw the food on prince James and the one who told him that I have a bad hair and smell problem,” Claire told, proud of herself from getting him to tell the truth.

“Then what was that all about?” Sylar asked.

Claire shrugged and giggled happily. “I only want to know the reason for it.”

“I… Then, why didn’t you say so?” Sylar asked angrily. How could she do something like that?  Make him feel miserable for three weeks and then only wanting to know why he treated a prince the way he did.

“It was more fun this way,” Claire told.

Sylar sighed and buried his face in his hands. “You’re going to be the death of me.

“So, why did you do it?”

Sylar lifted his head and looked at the woman in front of him. “Isn’t it obvious enough?”

Now, Claire was little confused. “Clarify me, please.”

“I did it because… Because I’m in love with you, my Queen.”

“Oh, that’s… nice,” Claire said, blushing. No man had ever told her that they love her.

“And I hope that you won’t push me away because I’m going to kiss you.” After Sylar said that he stood up, walked over to Claire, lifted her up and kissed her more fiercely and passionately than any other man in Claire’s life had never kissed her.
