Came home from a gorgeous wedding at the Grand Canyon to find out one of my favorite high school teachers had passed away due to colon cancer. Besides my parents, I can honestly say that he was the adult that had the greatest impact on my life and credit him for encouraging the creativity and professionalism I try to put into all my projects ( Read more... )

Thanks. I've been thinking about it a lot, but not in a very sentimental light. It's weird, I cried more when my mom's dog died a couple months back than when I heard about this person. It's very strange, very objective. Although, I must say that I'm very uncomfortable about how Facebook handles death. I think it's so weird that you can set up a memorial service as an "event" that people can RSVP to. Or, in Mr. Maddux' case, a dedication profile set up for him (yeah, it happened).

Also, some girl I went to high school sent me this message: "Hey Ryan I am Sorry to do this over Facebook but I thought you should know... Bad new Chris Maddox Die Last night. I thought you should know. Im sorry. If you want I will tell you when the funral is as soon as I find out. Im sorry again to the this on facebook."

Typos aside, she apologizes twice for doing it on facebook.
