I mean, to me, it sounds so ridiculous compared to people who have real, true losses, and I don't think it's PTSD in the true sense. But there's just something about watching the footage that makes me so damn anxious. And as an adult, I can decide not to watch it.
I was very glad on the first anniversary that the Brits weren't focused on it nearly as much as we were. I went to a memorial service in the park near the journalism building, and handed in my dissertation to be bound, but that's all that happened.
I think that's exactly was PTSD is, honestly. I think *I* have PTSD from fucking hurricanes because I have to take Xanax when it rains at night. Things that stir so much anxiety that you can't function...well, what else would you call it?
