oh, i'm so glad you liked the movie! the book is one of my favorites ever, and i'd heard the movie was horrible in comparison (cutting out the shtetl? wtf?) so it's good to know that's not true.

i'm actually reading extremely loud and incredibly close right now, and i've decided that jonathon safran foer is definitely not a one-hit wonder.

yeah, el&ic isn't as good as everything is illuminated, but it's still pretty amazing so far. comparing anything to everything is illuminated is risky, though - it was just so good, how can any other book compete?
