I had kept my camera in my bag all day, and took it out right before I left for my Calc class. On my way back, a man in a pink leotard with big red hearts over his boobs, a heart-shaped antenna coming out of his head, and a banana in his mouth was striking poses in Washington Square Park.

I love New York.

I got home (back to the dorm) about an hour ago, after spending basically the whole time at home (VT) in a continuous fit of inspiration. I now have about 10 songs or so in various states of incompleteness, the desire to do crazy amazing photoshoots a la Liselotte Eriksson, and I am very much ready to start sewing. My parents are coming today (though I have yet to go to sleep, so it still feels like tomorrow) in about 10 hours, with my SEWING MACHINE!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. It's raining outside. Really hard. And I think I just saw lightning. Awesome. So I came into my room last night and I saw some big black thing scamper across the floor. That was, my, friends, my first NYC cockroach, and I sadly don't expect it to be my last. Well, technically it's not the first day, as classes don't start for another week. I was going to take pictures of my dorm and plaster them all over live journal, but I'm lazy, so there you go.

Here endeth the monumental first day of college entry.

In my room, I've got two desks- one is against one wall, and one is against the one right next to it, so they make a little 'V'. One desk holds the computer and tv, and the other is where I sew/play keyboard/iron/whatever. Lately, both desks have been a sewing hell, and I'm convinced that this little work space is slowly becoming a black hole. ( Read more... )
