so cute, i love hermit crabs :) good excuse to collect alot of interesting shells from the beach :)

Till now I feel 'geli' whenever i have to catch it to clean it. lol. Now so comercialized, their shells for them to change, its being sold together with the pet.

Initially we had 2 that died, these are the balance that survive. Its more than 1 month since Bren got it. I think it has to do with the water and humidity.

these are very popular. saw them in the States as well. They decorate the shells with all sorts of patterns. Ryan would love one of these but I am worried they might run away.

My HUGE one ran away, see the brown big one in the middle (in the pix), thats the one that went for a walk). I m so scared i find it somewhere in my house, but guess it walk straight out of my house. lol. Ya, they decorate some of the shells.

Anyway its only rm4, so if it ran away, can always get a new one, just becareful that it ran off from the house, not still inside. Scared Ryan would ended up getting hurt one day.

Gosh I am so suagu! This is the first time I learnt about pet hermit crab! But they look sooo cute! Are they easy to care for? So you have to get new bigger shell for them as they grew?

Yes, we have bought more than 10 spare shells. And yes, quite easy to look after also, I hope u are not like me who is afraid of it. haha. My son gotta pick it up for me so I could clean it.

eh.. the boys in my family (my elder bro + cousins) used to light those matchstick and stuff it right into the shell of the hermit crabs! =/
